Aquatic Architecture

DeltaSync believes in the ensemble of technology and design. We are particularly looking for the synergy that emerges when innovations are combined. Innovations can stem from different disciplines such as architecture, building technology, material science and construction engineering. By experimenting with these solutions in our ‘research by design’ methodology, we deliver high quality innovative solutions, both from an architectural and a technological point of view.

Aquatic architecture invokes new challenges and opportunities for designers. While buildings on land are usually confined to an orthogonal plot or urban grid and are firmly attached to a single location, water-based architecture can have much more freedom. On water there are no fixed urban confines (such as a street pattern) and the building needs only to be attached to prevent horizontal movement. It can easily be detached to allow for relocation. This freedom inspires to search for a new formal possibilities to develop an aquatic architectural vocabulary.
